For the spring/summer season The Barge House has taken dining out to another level as we proudly present a series of alternative dining experiences.
Dinner and entertainment all from one seat. The space is the perfect fit for such endeavours. On the site of an old print house, double height ceilings, exposed industrial ducting gives a nod to its heritage. Natural wood interiors are contrast with heavy industrial steel work to create an impressive and welcoming contemporary environment.
This is not a traditional dining room yet the food delivered is certainly of note. Modern British with a French influence, the weekend brunch embodies this and the evening menu is more refined. Familiar dishes are given a playful twist, some dishes are little experimental but never alienating or pretentious. Each plate is beautifully presented. The food is honest and every now you’ll see the cheeky sense of humour elevating off the plate: Food and entertainment is to be enjoyed after all.
Environment, style and content all play their part in The Barge House experience. Given the team behind this unique establishment it’s no great surprise that creativity, entertainment and food are a natural fusion. In the current line-up of events the hungry Londoner can sate their social appetite with dining experiences both on and beyond the plate.

The winning dinner and dance formula circa the late 70’s has been revisited and transformed as Avant-garde cabaret host & exuberant drag queen Natalie Geographic welcomes you into her Alternative Universe.
Natalie Geographic will perform some of her favourite numbers whilst you dine.
The bold wide iron staircase provide natural and dramatic arrival, multiple levels with cheeky hidden entrances make for playful direction. Natalie Geographic navigates her way through dining guests in her performative playground.
Camp. Colourful. Highly Theatrical. Fluff up your feathers for the 1st hatch of this little nest egg as Natalie Geographic hosts an Easter Parade not to be missed.
Expect glitz, trash, laughter and performance as you dine on an Easter Inspired menu.
DJ’s To Dine To. Welcome to the Weekend!
If something a little more laid back is your style then the last Friday of the month maybe the one for you. This cool and groovy night is the perfect way to reward yourself for a hard months’ work, refuel body and welcome the weekend.
DJ Martin Green plays his immiscible rare sounds from the 50’s & 60’s. With a backdrop of visuals for the era of sharp style and cool DJ’s To Dine To takes your dining experience back to the giddy heights of the 60’s Sky Lounge.
Casual dining is relaxed. Attentive waiters make you super welcome. The night eases it’s way but don’t be surprised if you fancy a little shoulder wiggle at the table.
Collars up, fur coats on, kitten heals if you fancy. Get louche, get lavish, eat well and leave with the that warm, fuzzy feeling that life is good.
Martin Green indulges in the exotica. Expect Bossa nova, Mambos, Cha-Cha-Cha’s & twangy guitars. The Barge House kitchen serves season specials. Traditional English dining is given the French twist.
Chilled beers, Cheeky Martini’s. Dining not essential but good times certainly are.
Perfect Pairing Supper Club
Now this new season of alternative dining is a real treat for those with a passion for precision of palate.
For the experienced or the novice, your taste buds will be taken on a trip you’ll never forget.
We’re incredibly delighted to be partnering with our neighbours at East London Liquor Company to provide a series of monthly supper clubs.
The Barge House Head Chef Luke Dunwoodie has been working with Mikey Pendergast, one of the founders of East London Liquor Co. to create a 3 course supper of foodie heaven.
Fresh, innovative dishes are paired with bespoke creations from East London Liquor & Sonoma County custom distillates.
As the official brand ambassador of East London Liquor Company Mikey’s research into neurobiology, chemistry and gastronomy make for the perfect blend for his ability to play with flavour on every level. Aromas and alchemy are used to create elixirs we all dream of.
Expect a sparkling arrival followed by a menu of complex spirits including East London Liquor Company’s Batch 2 Gin, Chartreuse, salt and pepper Tinctures and Bacon Washed Sonoma Wheat Whiskey.
The dinner menu includes a nice mix of classic and the more experimental. All are served with a certainty of honesty: Raw Sea Trout with Cucumber Liquorice and Borage, Onglet with bone marrow coquettes, Watercress & Broccoli Fondant with blue cheese all take their seat.
