NATALIE SHARP aka LONE TAXIDERMIST
Fresh from the twisted machinations and fertile imagination of Cumbrian-born, London- dwelling artist and seer Natalie Sharp, ‘Trifle’ is a gallery of grotesquery not recommended for either the nervous of disposition or lactose intolerant.
Along with her co-conspirators Philip Winter (Wrangler/Tuung) and Will Kwerk, Sharp decamped to the splendid isolation of the otherworldly Bodmin Moor studio of Benge (John Foxx & The Maths/Wrangler) to sculpt these serenades, surrounded by vintage analogue equipment and sci-fi paperbacks.
Invariably on the lookout for new and surreal dimensions of expression, Natalie Sharp has seen herself increasingly over-subscribed as collaborative maverick of choice for a dizzying array of artists. She recently contributed vocals and live performance to Gazelle Twin’s JG Ballard-inspired Kingdom Come project at an impressive roll call of festivals in Europe as well as embarking on a summer of shows working on costume and conceptual designs for Jenny Hval. Her face and body painting work has won her infamy, notoriety and plaudits aplenty, and forms a puzzle piece in a body of work that sees disparate disciplines combining and conspiring to form a singularly enthralling assault on the senses.
